Jim Brandenburg

A former Poet Laureate of the SA Poetry Association, James Brandenburg is a counselor at San Antonio College. He is a certified poetry therapist and has published two books of poetry. His third book, Eyes in the Dark:

A Memoir of Dreams and Poetry, has recently been published by St. Mary’s University’s Pecan Grove Press. He is the Senior Editor of Voices de la Luna: A Quarterly Poetry & Arts Magazine.

Debra Peña

Debra Peña is a doctoral student in the English Department at UTSA, where she also teaches Freshman Seminar, Creative Writing-Fiction and Creative Writing Non-Fiction. She currently serves as Associate Editor (prose) for Voices de la Luna. Her work has appeared in The Floresville Chronicle, The Arkansas Review, and Voices de la Luna.

An evening with Oklahoma Poet Laureate Nathan Brown

nathan brown posterOn Tuesday, January 28, 2014, the Sun Poet’s Society and Barnes and Noble will host Oklahoma Poet Laureate Nathan Brown.  The evening will feature a reading by Nathan Brown, as well as an open mic. Books by the Poet Laureate will be available. The event is free and open to the public.

Nathan Brown is the author of eight books, and in 2009 won the Oklahoma Book Award for Poetry for his book, Two Tables Over.
